2009 Summit Focus:
Impact of Economic and Financial Literacy on Career Readiness and Citizenship

The purpose of this summit is to bring together educators, business people and policy makers from diverse backgrounds with common goals:

  • Raise public awareness of the need for economic & financial literacy education.

  • Advocate the integrating of economic & finance literacy education into existing curricular standards.

  • Enhance professional development of Kansas educators in economic & financial literacy.

  • Promote communication and cooperation.

We hope that each district will be represented at this very important Summit.  This event will bring together a diverse group to allow for a discussion regarding the current state of financial and economic education in our schools.  These topics are of great importance considering the current state of our economy and have a huge impact on the future of Kansas.
